It’s called a “Pondless Waterfall”, a water gardening marvel that eliminates the maintenance of a pond, as the waterfall and stream empty into a basin of gravel. It couldn’t be more beautiful – or simple.
It’s called a "Pondless" waterfall because the water level either disapears below the rock and gravel fill, giving it the appearance of a disappearing waterfall, or pools above the level of the rock and gravel fill creating a small pooling area. The water is captured in an underground basin, which houses the pump equipment, and is lined and filled with rock and gravel.
